ypmatch – print the values of one or more keys in a NIS database

ypmatch [-kt] [-d domainname] key ... mapname
ypmatch -x

The ypmatch utility prints out the values of one or more keys from the NIS database specified by mapname, which may be a map name or a map nickname.

The options are as follows:
-d domainname
Specify a domain other than the default domain.
Display map keys. This option is useful with maps in which the values are null or the key is not part of the value.
Inhibit translation of map nicknames to their corresponding map names.
  Display the map nickname table.

domainname(1), ypcat(1), yp(8), ypbind(8), ypset(8)

Today, the Unix equivalent of a power drill would have 20 dials and switches, come with a nonstandard plug, require the user to hand-wind the motor coil, and not accept 3/8" or 7/8" drill bits (though this would be documented in the BUGS section of its instruction manual).
